A linear bank circa 5m wide and 75m long is visible as slight earthwork on the east facing slopes south of Lower Bramble, Ashton, on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any feature depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey. It is interpreted as former field boundary of medieval origin that was cleared prior to the mid-19th century. The bank remains visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar data captured in between 1998 and 2107.
