Two circular platforms or low mounds circa 10m in diameter and 30m apart are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s as slight earthwork, to the south-west of Lower Bramble, Ashton. The earthworks might be evidence of hard standings associated with a Second World War searchlight emplacement recorded in this area. The earthworks have been levelled.
