Cottage is depicted on the late 19th century historic map (not shown on the Tithe Map).

Within a few years of the construction of the Providence Chapel in 1839 (and later Providence Place), several other families of nonconformist following came to live in more cottages built in the vicinity and by 1860 the chapel required an extended gallery to accommodate numbers.
