A north-east to south-west aligned narrow ditch and scarp is visible on aerial photographs of 1969 as an earthwork circa 130m long and up to 6m wide, crossing the summit of a hill to the south-west of Farley, Chudleigh. The visible earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe map for Chudleigh but is in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern. The earthwork is interpreted as a former field boundary of probable post-medieval date, but it could have earlier origins.
