'B.S.' for boundary stone is depicted on the late 19th century historic mapping.

Boundary stone opposite turn to Moortown approximately 0.75 miles south of the hamlet against wall above bend in leat (south side of road) (SX52420 72888). Legend ‘SS/P/’. Worn granite uneven top with chips out of edges. Exposed position. SS/P stands for Sampford Spiney Parish. Serifs on both of the ‘S’s. Thought to date to c.1822.
