Full description

Robinson, R., 1977-1979, South Brent Parish Checklist (Worksheet). SDV151046.

(Estimated 1979). Milestone, on tramway. Extant. Others not located. Associated with the Zeal Tor tramway are granite milestones which presumably were originally set up every 1/4 mile. Crossing describes two but the only one now visible is the one near Broad Rushes. This is an unworked stone with the inscription "3/4" incised in seriffed capitals, placed on the north-east side of the tramway immediately adjacent to it.

Stone is unusual; with it's partner to the north-west (MDV123121), it is probably one of the most remote markers from a metalled road anywhere in the UK.
