Summary

Lower Lumburn Bridge probably built in at least the 19th century, based on cartographic evidence. Depicted on the late 19th century historic map, it is located close to the point at which the Tavistock to Callington road originally ran, before the 1840s Turnpike re-routed it west, and then south, crossing the Mill Hill branch of the Tavistock Canal.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Road bridge is shown (but not labelled) to the south-west of the iron and brass foundry at Lumborn.
