The remains of a causeway at Torre Abbey Sands was unearthed near the Belgrave Hotel. The hotel was built in 1859 but from 1866 was known as 'Atkinson's Hotel', which is how the source, Worth, refers to it in 1891. Originally identified as Roman, Worth claimed it was not.
