Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.
The visible cropmark does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the Tithe map for Dawlish.

A cropmark of a curvilinear bank is visible.

A curvilinear cropmark of a bank circa 7m wide and 100m long is visible on aerial photographs of 1960. The visible feature does not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but is it in keeping with the medieval character of the surrounding field pattern.
The cropmark is interpreted as evidence of a field boundary of probable medieval origin that was removed by circa 1840. The bank has probably been levelled but some subsurface remains may survive.
