Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.
The visible cropmarks do not correspond with any boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Ashcombe.

A curvilinear cropmark of a bank circa 3m wide and 180m long is visible on aerial photographs of 1969. The bank appears to have been flanked by narrow ditches. The visible feature does not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the 19th century maps available to the survey but does appear to focus on a depicted boundary at circa SX91897790, suggesting an association with the 19th century field pattern. This might support the interpretation of the cropmarks as evidence of a field boundary of probable medieval origin that was removed prior to circa 1840.
