A 19th-century extension of the road network is visible to the south of St Leonard's Road, Newton Abbot, depicted on 19th and early 20th century maps and visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The new road, named as Leonard's Road on the 19th century maps, might have been constructed speculatively with regard further housing development, but remained undeveloped but visible as a relict earthwork. The earthwork was not transcribed by the survey.
