Small triangle of land (plot 921) named as Allotment on the 1840 Dartington Tithe Apportionment. It is suggested that this plot of land originated as a stock funnel. Stock funnels are fairly common features of the Devon historic landscape, used in the medieval and post-medieval periods to facilitate driving stock from open moorland onto a droveway.
