Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2014-2015, East and Mid Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV356883.

A barrow of probable Bronze Age date is visible on aerial photographs and digital images derived from lidar data as cropmark and slight earthwork mound. It is one of three monuments visible on an east to west ridge to the south of Fordy Bridge, Thorverton.
The mound is visible as a slightly irregularly shaped earthwork approximately 29 metres in diameter. The slightly squared off shape of the mound, as visible on images derived from lidar, might support the interpretation that the mound has been slightly damaged by agricultural activity such as ploughing. That the mound has been spread might be supported by images of 2006 that show a pale roughly circular cropmark circa 18 metres in diameter. This central mound was enclosed by a ditch visible as a cropmark up to 10 metres wide and 30 metres in diameter.
