Summary

A rectilinear, possibly bivallate enclosure of probable Iron Age to Roman date is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards and as an earthwork ditch and bank on images derived from lidar data, situated on a northeast facing spur below Abbeyford Woods, Inwardleigh.

Cropmark on os ap of a probably bivallate enclosure on a slight ne facing spur. Internal diameter c 50m, sub square in plan. Probably iron age or roman.(os).

Vis=11/11/1998 (robinson) substantial bank + ditch visible, 20m overall width. Outlying banks + ditches downhill also substantial, 7-8m overall width (dprfp).
