Summary

Two curvilinear banks and a curvilinear ditch are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013 north-east of Lower Horslett. They are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin, that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

The banks and ditch do not correspond with any depicted features, however they are in parallel with adjacent field boundaries.

Two curvilinear banks, one 180 metres in length and one 85 metres in length and a curvilinear ditch 160 metres in length are visible as earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2004 and 2013. The earthworks are orientated approximately north-east to south-west and are in parallel. They are situated in a south-east facing field to the immediate north-east of Lower Horslett.
The earthworks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps, however they are parallel to adjacent depicted field boundaries. They are crossed by a north-west to south-east orientated field boundary which passed out of use by the late 20th century. The historic landscape is characterised as medieval enclosures based on strip fields.
The banks are interpreted as medieval field boundaries that may have formed part of medieval strip field system and that passed out of use prior to circa 1840.
