They are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin, that formed part of a strip field system and that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.

The earthworks do not correspond with any depicted features. Depicted field boundaries bisect the banks.

A series of curvilinear banks orientated approximately north-west to south-east are visible as subtle earthworks on visualisations derived from lidar data captured in 2013. They are situated across several south and south-east facing fields south of Eastcott Barton.
The banks do not correspond with any features depicted on the available historic maps. They are bisected by field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map. The historic landscape is characterised as ‘medieval enclosures’.
The banks are interpreted as field boundaries of medieval origin, that formed part of a strip field system and that passed out of use by the mid-19th century.
