Full description

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

'Old Quarry' is depicted on the late 19th century historic map. Another lies to the south of Tor Rocks (MDV53231).

Tor Rocks granite quarry. SX64105912. A small granite quarry cut into an outcrop known as Tor Rocks; on open moor, between enclosed farmland, close to the left bank of the stream called the Butterbrook. The quarry is 19th century. And appears to have been worked in 1850-1860s (citing Directories of Devon in Plymouth local history library?). Little information has been discovered about it, and all references are vague.

A small granite quarry cut into an outcrop known as Tor Rocks; on open moor, between enclosed farmland, close to the left bank of the stream called the Butterbrook. The quarry is 19th century.
