A large irregular and shallow earthwork depression is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. It does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. The plot is depicted as rough pasture and furze on the First and Second Edition maps. The depression is faintly visible on aerial photographs dating to the 1940s. The superficial geological deposits are recorded as clay, silt, sand and gravel. The depression is interpreted as extractive work, probably for sand or gravel, of post-medieval to 19th century origin.
