Two earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. The western depression is square in shape circa 30m across, and does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. The eastern depression is oval shape circa 50m by 35m. It is situated in 'Lower Pit Close' in the Tithe Survey and corresponds to a curving field boundary partially enclosing an area of woodland and scrub. Two marl pits are recorded nearby (MDV75440 and MDV75441). The depressions are interpreted as post-medieval extractive pits, one of which ceased extraction by the end of the 19th century.
