Summary
Circular earthwork, 13m south-east of the steam winding house (SX 76 NW 69) at Brookwood Mine (SX 76 NW 51). The level earthwork platform has a diameter of 7m. This was almost certainly a charcoal burning platform associated with woodland management in Brook Wood and not the mines. Fragments of charcoal are evident in the ground and surrounding area of the platform.

(30/04/2005) A circular earthwork, 13m south-east of the steam winding house (SX 76 NW 69) at Brookwood Mine (SX 76 NW 51). The level earthwork platform has a diameter of 7m. This was almost certainly a charcoal burning platform associated with woodland management in Brook Wood and not the mines. Fragments of charcoal are evident in the ground and surrounding area of the platform.
Report on Brookwood Mine: Mine surveyed at 1:1000 and described in detail.
