| Name: | Enclosure in Nelder Wood |
|---|
Summary
Roughly rectangular enclosure with dimensions 25m by 15m, utilising existing field boundary on western side. Situated on opposite side of field to terrace and bank (NW43) and of similar age and construction, probably Prehistoric. Area is strewn with boulders. Northern boundary of enclosure is of large boulders which have formed a terrace on the upslope side due to hill wash. The east and south sides are less dramatic, but there is a small scarp face 0.3m high, making the inside higher than the outside. Possible internal subdivision. Poor condition in bracken covered field with patchy scrub woodland, but with larger trees in end boundaries.
