Full description

Dartmoor National Park Authority, 2001-2012, Woodland Management Survey data, Survey: 2001 (Cartographic). SDV364209.

Feature marked on the survey at SX 7256 7210, fairly close to the location of this feature. Both this and the other platform to the north-north-east are both plotted around 15-20m to the south-east of where they can be seen on the lidar data but otherwise match the survey point data which is known to be slightly inaccurate.

Charcoal burner's hearth visible on the lidar data at SX 7253 7211. Not previously recorded by Greeves but appears to have been recorded in the 2001 Dartmoor National Park Authority walkover survey - a pair of features are recorded close to this location. Probably associated with the other platforms in the wood. Lies to the south of one of the walks / pathways through the wood; the other lies opposite to the north-east, the northern side of the pathway.
