Full description
South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments, Plots 66, 67, 68 (Cartographic). SDV359954.
Depicted on the 1840s Tithe Map as a range of dwellings fronting onto the road following the curve of the street. No gaps shown in the buildings between Southcombe Street and Lower Street. Plot numbers from the south to north; 64 ('Chapel'), 68 ('Cottages and Yard') and to the rear: 67 ('Two cottages and garden').
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
The late 19th century historic map shows a number of subdivisions. The part of the range of buildings that was recorded as 'chapel' on the Tithe Map is now subdivided into two properties and the adjacent building to the south is now in use as a chapel. At least six separate cottages run from the former chapel northwards, the curve of the range matching the road. Yard shown to rear, with other associated structures; possibly additional dwellings. To the rear of the modern number 17 Southcombe Street is a range of buildings shown.
Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.
Similar to the late 19th century historic map depiction.

(Image date: May 2009) Series of terrace houses, rendered with tile roofs visible on the images. Varying house sizes, as well as roof heights. Timber-framed dormer window set into roof of number 15. All appear to have retained sash windows of varying sizes. Buildings to the rear of number 17 only partially visible.
Ordnance Survey, 2023, Mastermap 2023 (Cartographic). SDV365227.
Numbers 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and 21 Southcombe Street are depicted on the modern mapping. Beyond 17 to the north, the remainder of the original range have been demolished, although some indication of the footprints of the former buildings can be seen.
