Summary
Dating to the later 19th century, the house at Willowby is a substantial dwelling which at the time of construction was isolated and set within grounds. A lodge was added by the early 20th century map depiction, but later development of the area and construction of new dwellings have completely surrounded the house.

Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
'Willowby' is depicted on the late 19th century historic map, but is not shown on the earlier 1840s Tithe Map, so dates to the later 19th century. At this time, there were very few other buildings in the area and Willowby stands isolated within its grounds.

By the early 20th century, a number of new houses are shown in the area, including terrace housing to the south and north of Willowby and a lodge building that has been added at the end of the drive to the house.

Modern mapping shows the area north of the road surrounding Willowby has been completely developed during the 20th century, part of the wider expansion of Yelverton.
