Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.
A small rectangular enclosure is shown (Plot 821). Recorded as a garden on the Northlew Tithe Apportionment.

The garden was incorporated within a larger field by the time of the first edition Ordnance Survey map.

The enclosure shows very well on LiDAR data. Although recorded as a garden on the Tithe Apportionment it is possible that it was the site of an earlier feature like a moated manor house? However, the surface quarrying visible to the south (in the area recorded as waste on the Tithe Apportionment) may have exagerated its prominence.
