The ditches correspond in part to field boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map

Linear ditches are visible as earthworks.

The ditches correspond in part to field boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey 25inch First Edition map and appear to define a rectilinear enclosure. The earthworks probably relate to drainage of post-medieval to 19th century date associated with several springs that rise in this area.
