Summary
An oval enclosure defined by a curvilinear bank and ditch is visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar data on the southeast facing slopes to the east of Essebeare Farm, Witheridge parish, overlooking the Little Dart River. It has been interpreted as a possible settlement enclosure potentially of prehistoric date but might represent field boundaries of medieval origin.
