Summary

A mound is visible on images derived from lidar data as a low circular earthwork up to 21m in diameter, on the crest of the ridge to the west of Merrifield Cross, Slapton. The mound has been interpreted as evidence of a possible barrow of Bronze Age date or a possible Second World War installation associated with the military training area to the south.

A mound, possibly a barrow or earthwork of Second World War date is visible.

A mound up to 21m in diameter is visible as a slight earthwork.

No evidence of any association with the military training area of Second World War date located immediately to the south (MDV104468) has been interpreted from aerial photographs of the 1940s for this mound.
