Horner, B., 2024, Lidar interpretation (Personal Comment). SDV366090.

The majority of relict earthworks do not correspond to boundaries or structures depicted on the Tithe Map for Colyton. The earthworks may represent a shrunken or deserted medieval settlement with associated strip field boundaries to the east and south-east. Probable field boundaries to the north of Hooperhayne and oval or circular hollows to the south of the current farmstead, probably representing a series of former ponds, were situated on land shown as orchards on the Tithe Map for Colyton and the later Ordnance Survey maps. A curvilinear hollow south of the current farmstead corresponds to a track or lane depicted on the Tithe Map, not shown on the later Ordnance Survey maps.
