Ditched rectilinear enclosures are visible as dark cropmarks on aerial photographs of May 2020, located on the saddle of a north-west facing spur overlooking a tributary of the River Teign, to the south-east of Teign Village. The cropmarks north-east of the modern field boundary are circa 3.5m wide and define a regular rectilinear enclosure up to 57m long and 30m wide. Less substantial and regular cropmarks of possible ditches are visible extending to the south of the extant field boundary, defining a possible enclosure approximately 60m by 50m in size. The apparent division along the line of the extant field boundary is probably coincidental, the boundary appearing to have been made in the early 21st century. The cropmarks probably represent enclosures of prehistoric or Romano-British date, although further work would be required to assess if they were contemporary or represent two phases of activity.
