A ditched enclosure of probable prehistoric or Romano-British date is visible as a dark cropmark on aerial photographs of 2020, on the south facing slopes to the east of Four Cross Ways, south-east of North Tawton village. The cropmarks are 2.5 to 3m wide and define the south-east end of an oval enclosure at least 60m by 30m in size, with a break in the south-east facing side possibly representing an entrance. The projected circuit of the enclosure would continue under the road immediately to the north but is not identifiable as a cropmark on the available imagery north of the road.
