A stone breaker is located at SX 45021 68813. By 1883, the copper ore had mainly been worked out, leaving the mine to focus on the production of un-refined arsenic from mispickel. This additional stone breaker would have performed the original role of the crusher, allowing the crusher to break the ore into much smaller pieces and appears to have been sited on the east side of the engine house at a similar level. Other details: Site No. 63.1
Ordnance Survey, 2016, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV359352.
The structure is depicted.

In 1883 a Stone Breaker was erected at SX 45021 68813 alongside the Crusher, which would have performed an initial ore breaking role, so that the Crusher could then produce much smaller pieces. When the new Engine House and Grinder complex (Site Nos. 31 – 38) was constructed upslope in 1895, only the winder would have remained in use. The location of the Stone Breaker is based on the Site Plan Figure No. 7. Other details: Site No. 63.1.
