Curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks.

Hegarty, C., 2025, Comment on Unlocking Landscapes project and related lidar and aerial photograph interpretations (Interpretation). SDV366411.

Curvilinear banks are visible on images derived from lidar data as earthwork banks on the north-west, west and south-west facing slopes of North Hill, overlooking Monks Hollow to the south. The banks correspond largely to field boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Ottery St Mary. Although crossing the slope of the hill to the north of Monks Hollow, formerly Lower Burrow Hill Farm, the earthworks do not appear to represent strip lynchets formed by contour ploughing. It is thought unlikely that the banks represent any earlier form of enclosure associated with the name Burrow Hill.

Horner, B., 2025, Lidar interpretation (Personal Comment). SDV366415.

Earthworks on Burrow Hill coincide with strip lynchets on Tithe Map for Ottery St Mary. Burrow name may, however, be significant.
