An irregularly shaped plantation named as Chistendown Clump is depicted on maps from the Ordnance Survey First Edition 25inch Map onwards, near the summit of the hill west of Doddiscomsleigh. The plantation is not depicted on the Tithe Map and therefore is probably of mid to late 19th century date. The plantation remains extant and the bank is visible as an earthwork on images derived from lidar data overlying the earlier, medieval field boundary.

Horner, B., 2025, Lidar interpretation (Personal Comment). SDV366415.

Probable landscape feature. Is on Ordnance Survey 1st Edition map, but not Tithe Map.
