Curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks.

Hegarty, C., 2025, Comment on Unlocking Landscapes project and related lidar and aerial photograph interpretations (Interpretation). SDV366411.

Curvilinear banks are visible as earthworks on images derived from lidar data captured in 2021 defining rectilinear and curvilinear enclosures of less than 0.15hectares, on the north-west facing slopes to the west of Scouse Lane, Hawkchurch. The visible earthworks do not correspond to any boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition map but do appear to respect and fall within the extant enclosure pattern. They are interpreted as the remains of infield enclosures associated with a former settlement, perhaps a farmstead, that passed out of use before the mid to late 19th century.
