Hegarty, C., 2025, Comment on Unlocking Landscapes project and related lidar and aerial photograph interpretations (Interpretation). SDV366411.

Curvilinear and linear banks are visible on images derived from lidar data, as earthworks on the summit and south-facing slopes of Loventor, Bery Pomeroy. The banks are up to approximately 10m wide. The longest is aligned south-west to north-east and exceeds 360m in length, and may form a continuation of an extant boundary to the south-west. Two shorter banks are visible aligned rounghly north to south. The banks do not correspond to any boundaries depicted on the Tithe Map for Berry Pomeroy and are interpreted as the remains of field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval origin that had been removed prior to the mid-19th century. They may be associated with an adjacent mound interpreted as a possible clearance cairn (MDV135634).

Horner, B., 2025, Lidar interpretation (Personal Comment). SDV366415.

Traces of field systems south of Butterball Copse.
