Full description

Environment Agency, 2021, University of Exeter Understanding Landscapes Project - Lidar visualisation (Cartographic). SDV366001.

Banks, hollows and terraces and are visible as earthworks.

Hegarty, C., 2025, Comment on Unlocking Landscapes project and related lidar and aerial photograph interpretations (Interpretation). SDV366411.

Banks, hollows and terraces and are visible on images derived from lidar data to the east and west of Higher and Lower Yeadbury. The earthworks to the west appear to largely represent former field boundaries and possible infield, corresponding in part with boundaries depicted on the Tithe map for Cruwys Morchard. They are interpreted as evidence of previously more extensive enclosure and settlement at Yeadbury. A banked rectilinear plot centred on SS86631009, corresponding to a plot named as ‘Nursery’ on the Tithe Apportionments for Cruwys Morchard may indicate a former building platform, with similar relict rectilinear plots and terraces visible to the east, at circa SS 86781015, adjacent to linear banks that might indicate a former track.

Horner, B., 2025, Lidar interpretation (Personal Comment). SDV366415.

Evidence of shrunken settlement and/or enclosure circuit.
