Linear and curvilinear banks and terracing are visible as earthworks.

Hegarty, C., 2025, Comment on Unlocking Landscapes project and related lidar and aerial photograph interpretations (Interpretation). SDV366411.

Linear and curvilinear banks and terracing are visible on images derived from lidar data as earthworks to the north, south and south-west of St Michaels Parish Church. The relict earthworks may define former enclosures, building platforms and a road or hollow way indicative of, and associated with, a previously more extensive settlement at Loxhore Town. This may be supported by probably contemporary widespread relict strip fields in the same area.
The relict earthworks immediately south of St Michaels Church are very regular in plan, and could alternatively indicate post-medieval landscaping, possibly as part of a formal garden.

Horner, B., 2025, Lidar interpretation (Personal Comment). SDV366415.

Earthworks of a possible shrunken medieval settlement. Alternatively, the earthworks could be evidence of landscaping. South of church, but possibly more widespread. The name Loxhore Town on the Tithe Map could be a fanciful name for a hamlet?
