A programme of archaeological work was undertaken along the route of a 13.5km long water main from Roborough to Yondertown. A previous geophysical survey had identified a number of areas likely to contain archaeological deposits.
A linear cut feature [1190], recorded in the geophysical survey, was identified in Area C2 on a west-north-west to east-south-east alignment. It comprised two parallel cuts, 1.8m apart. The northern cut was 0.24m wide and 0.24m deep, the southern cut 0.14m wide and 0.39m deep. The feature had been identified in the geophysical survey.
