Summary

Slotted gatepost. Leigh grange. Extant. Locked bar type. Vis=-/12/1978 (robinson, r. ). A granite gatepost at leigh grange now near the house but brought back from somewhere on the farm, is of a type unusual for the area. It corresponds to worth's type d, locked bar gates. This gatepost is broken across the topmost of four depressions with a circular hole between the 2nd and 3rd from the ground into which presumably the iron eye would have been leaded. Height 130cm (broken) width 30cm, depth 50cm.
