Full description
MITCHELL, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV253651.
Old gravel pit marked on 2nd edition os 6" map. In sands copse, now a plantation. Noted on survey as disused (mitchell). Vis=2/11/1983 (griffiths). The whole of the sw side of sands copse has been recently disturbed by topsoiling and pit digging. The rest of sands copse is either given over to a modern quarry, or to dense wood (mixed). In the wood are a number of pits and spoil heaps of which this is the largest.
