Full description
Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV148.
Earthwork (see plan), sectioned and trial-trenched by jope 1938-9. Interpreted as a "small manorial earthwork" based on the motte and bailey plan. It was made after the medieval occupation of beere had already begun, and can be assigned a date no earlier than the late 12th century. Probably abandoned at the same time as the village.13th century pot was recovered (jope + threlfall) now erased by ploughing (os).
