Vis=25/2/1982 (griffiths). Quarrying has possibly taken place at sometime during the past along the e edge of venn ottery hill.

SMR records possible quarrying along east edge Venn Ottery Hill. During field visit, apparent terraces cut into east facing slope may represent quarrying. Continues for over 100 metres to west of grid reference 0576 9135. Not shown on Ordnance Survey 1890 1:10560 map (81SE). There are gravel pits in the vicinity (i.e. sites 196, 208).
