Full description

Reichel, O. J., 1913, The Hundred of Stanborough or Dippeforda in the Time of 'Testa de Nevil' AD 1243, 186,204 (Article in Serial). SDV336180.

At Buckland, Thurlestone, the site of a Saxon farmstead which by 1086 had been added to Much Bolbury, the Domesday estate of Boltesberia.

Buckland was mentioned as 'Bochelanda' in 1086 & 'Bocland' in 1242.

Buckland, now two farms north of the church, was a Domesday estate recorded as Bochelanda.
