Full description

Silvester, R. J., Marystow. West Raddon (Interpretation). SDV344276.

Segment of oval enclosure in corner of field [shown on Royal Air Force aerial photograph]. Possibly not a cropmark. Could be an upstanding bank or a soil mark. Nothing in adjacent fields. On moderate south-east facing slope of a spur formed by two tributaries.

The Royal Air Force aerial photograph certainly appears to represent an earthwork or soilmark. No trace of remainder of 'circuit' in other fields.


Balkwill, Untitled Source (Unattributed Sites and Monuments Register Entry). SDV340440.

Cropmark 600 metres east of West Raddon shows south-west quadrant of a possible circular hill slope enclosure on slight break of slope. The overall diameter would be about 200 metres.
