The limekiln situated here is located in a field that was recorded on the 1841 West Alvington tithe map as 'Kiln Field' (Plot 1589).

Circular limekiln built of roughly shaped slate bricks which may have been repointed. The transport of lime to the Kingsbridge Estuary was recorded into the 19C.

The limekiln situated here on the north bank of Blanksmill Creek, is located in a field that was recorded on the 1841 West Alvington tithe map as 'Kiln Field' (Plot 1589). This would indicate that the kiln is older than the 1st edition 25 inch OS map (c.1880s).
