Full description

Penton House, erected 1806 out of Hayward Charity funds. In 1814 the English School and the Bluecoat School, which was originally established near the churchyard in about 1728, merged to become the Crediton United Charity Schools and occupied this house.
Mid Devon District Council, 2003, Crediton Conservation Area Appraisal (Report - non-specific). SDV345978.
The Beeches and Penton House make a significant contribution to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area.
