Vis=26/1/1983 (weddell). Farm is not inhabited as such, owner lives in caravan. Some of the buildings are in disrepair, old parts of standing walls visible.17th century, l-shaped in plan, plastered rubble and cob, ceiling beams and open fireplace in one room (mhlg).

It was held by alsfilla in saxon times, and was retained by her after the conquest (reichel, 1928-1938). Meaning of name is "herbert's farm", mentioned 1270 (mawer et al).
