Rectangular building shown in the centre of the road junction. Recorded as Turnpike House (Plot2292), on the Chittlehampton Tithe Map, owned by the South Molton Turnpike Trust.

The congregation of the parish of Satterleigh met in the old toll house built in 1840 at Meethe Gate, just over the border in Chittlehampton parish. It was used as a Methodist Chapel until 1925, when a new chapel was built.
