A water mill at gittisham of which nothing remains. A mill is recorded in the domesday survey and fieldnames suggest its approximate position. Deeds of 1616 refer to millpond, millhouse, leat, etc. Also grist mill referred to in 1711 with information added that the mill was burned to the ground in 1757 (phillips + wilson).
